Tournaments

Three Weapon Triathlon: Competitors entered in saber, open longsword, and open rapier & dagger may register to compete in this year’s three weapon triathlon. Fighters will be ranked by their overall performance in each tournament.

Coached Beginners’ Longsword Exhibition: A non-competitive event where beginner longsword students (with less than a year of experience who’ve never competed in a major event) will get a chance to experience tournament conditions while under the coaching of a high-ranked instructor.

***Fighters should know that grappling at the sword is allowed in this tournament, and by entering they are prepared to fall on a padded surface (padded astroturf). Fighters who do not wish to grapple SHOULD NOT enter this tournament. ***

Open LongswordThis tournament will have three phases.

    1. Swiss qualifier
    2. Tier A/B Round Robin
    3. Double elimination

Fighters will be randomly paired with three opponents during the Swiss qualifier round. Based on their ranked performance, they will then be seeded into pools in two tiers, Tier A and Tier B. Fighters from Tier A will judge the matches in Tier B, and vice versa, simplifying scheduling and eliminating the overlap of people fighting and staffing at the same time. Fighters are guaranteed at least 7 fights under this format.
